C-DOT Centre of Excellence (C-DOT COE) at Academic Institutions
(Fostering Innovation and Collaborative R&D in Telecommunications)
Introduction
C-DOT’s COE initiative aims to accelerate India's leadership in telecommunications technology by synergising C-DOT's expertise with academic excellence of reputed institutes. This centre shall serve as a hub for both fundamental and applied research with a focus to excel in the domains of C-DOT's existing expertise in critical areas like Mobile Communications, Cyber Security, Quantum Communication, Advanced AI, and Advanced Telecom Applications.
Scope
COE’s at academic institution will serve as an umbrella for formal collaborations, including, but not limited to:
- Collaborative Research and Joint R&D Projects
- Technology Development Fund (TTDF) Projects
- Co-funded/Sponsored Research Projects (Government or Industry)
- Consultancy and Research Advisory Projects
- Research Contract Projects
- Training and Joint seminars for student / Industry
- Any other appropriate mode of collaboration agreed by both parties

In line with its mission to elevate India's global telecom stature, The Centres of Excellence (CoE’s) will undertake research and development activities in areas including, but not limited to:
- Mobile Technologies (4G/5G and beyond)
- Optical and Quantum Communication Technologies
- Advanced Security Solutions
- Advanced Telecom Applications
- Artificial Intelligence
Program Governance Structure
The COE is governed by a foundational Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with specific projects formalized through individual Project Agreements.
