C-DOT bags 3 awards for its indigenously designed & developed innovative Telecom solutions at 12th Annual Aegis Graham Bell Awards

Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), the premier Telecom R&D centre of the Government of India has bagged three awards at 12th Annual Aegis Graham Bell Awards in a virtual ceremony on 25th Feb 2022 for its indigenously designed & developed innovative Telecom solutions in various categories. CDOT is declared TOP WINNER in three categories as below 1. Indigenous Early Warning Platform for Disaster Management & Preparedness based on ITU’s Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) in the “Tech for Social Good” category. 2. C-DOT SAMVAD – A Unified Platform for Secure Messaging and Calling Solution. 3. C-DOT Quarantine Alert System (CQAS) has won the first prize in the category of “Preventive measures to combat Covid 19”

C-DOT conducts workshop on theme “Exploiting the Potential of Indian Telecom R&D Together - The Way Forward”

Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), the premier Telecom R&D centre of the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, Government of India conducted today a workshop centered on the theme, “Exploiting the Potential of Indian Telecom R&D Together - The Way Forward” with the awardees of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) and Digital Communication Innovation Square (DCIS) schemes of the Government of India at its Delhi campus. The technical workshop was inaugurated by Shri K Rajaraman, Secretary, Department of Telecommunications & Chairman, Digital Communications Commission, Government of India in the presence of Ms. Anita Praveen, Special Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, Government of India. The objective of the workshop was to bring various stakeholders including the industry, R&D, academia, startups and MSMEs on a common platform to deliberate upon the strengths and weaknesses in the indigenous manufacturing eco-system and work out effective technologies in an expeditious manner. The workshop was focused on leveraging the R&D expertise of C-DOT in diverse areas of Telecom by the Indian manufacturing & startup ecosystem to accelerate the indigenous development of market-deployable solutions to not only meet the domestic demand but also for exporting to other countries.

C-DOT and RailTel sign MoU for cooperation in diverse areas of Telecom sector

As part of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, C-DOT, the premier R&D centre of the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, Government of India and RailTel Corporation of India Ltd., Ministry of Railways, Government of India signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at C-DOT, Delhi campus on 14th October, 2021 with the objective of working together in the diverse areas of Telecom with key focus on the modernization & expansion of Communication Networks across the country. The MOU signing ceremony was attended by Dr Rajkumar Upadhyay, Executive Director, C-DOT and Shri Puneet Chawla, CMD, RailTel in the presence of other senior officers of both the organizations. The signing of MOU will help both the organizations leverage each other’s expertise in their respective domains. C-DOT has indigenously designed various cutting-edge Telecom technologies spanning Switching, Optical, Wireless, Network Management & Security domains and innovative solutions that are successfully deployed in national networks including those of strategic importance.

Telecom secretary asks C-DoT to work on 6G, launches Quantum Communication Lab

Telecom secretary Shri K Rajaraman has asked state-owned telecom research and development organisation C-DoT to start working on 6G and other futuristic technologies in order to catch up with the global market in time, a statement said on Sunday. "The telecom secretary has stressed upon C-DoT to keep track of emerging technologies, aligned with the technology life cycle. He has asked C-DOT to start working on 6G and other futuristic technologies in order to catch up with the market in time," Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DoT ) said in the statement. According to Department of Telecom (DoT), 5G technology is expected to deliver ten times better download speed than that of 4G and up to three times greater spectrum efficiency.

Secretary Telecom Shri K. Rajaraman visits C-DOT; Inaugurates futuristic Quantum Communication Lab

Sh. K. Rajaraman, Secretary (T) and Chairman – Digital Communications Commission, Department of Telecommunications, Government of India, visited Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT ) Delhi Campus yesterday. C-DOT is the the premier Telecom R&D centre of the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, Government of India. He interacted with senior officials of C-DOT and reviewed the R&D projects being developed by CDOT. He was given a detailed presentation about the telecom R & D activities undertaken by C-DOT by Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay, Executive Director, C-DOT. Subsequently he visited various C-DOT labs including labs of 4G/5G, GPON, Encryptors, Routers, WiFi, Cyber Security etc. He encouraged the researchers working in various R&D projects and later addressed C-DOT officers. Officers from CDOT Bangalore campus joined the address through video conferencing tool developed in-house by C-DOT. Shri Rajaraman asked C-DOT engineers to work with full dedication towards realizing the goal of “Atmanirbhar Bharat” in field of telecom. He also appreciated the contribution of C-DOT in achieving self -reliance in the field of telecom and assured full support of DoT in all endeavors of C-DOT. He complimented C-DOT for its critical role in developing indigenous 4G technology and ongoing 5G development project. (4G technology from CDOT is already under Proof of Concept (POC) Trial in BSNL network at Chandigarh and Ambala).
